by M LeMont

It’s winter, and rats are looking for a warm cozy place to call home—a lovely fireplace and food.

What do we really know about rats?

The only thing I know, they are gross with their tiny head, beady eyes, and disgusting tails. They like cheese and are scared of cats. My father used to put rat traps inside the house to catch them, and Mom used to try to hit them with a broom. That’s all I know.

So, I went searching the internet for information about these creatures. What I found was quite fascinating.

Will rats take over the world?

  • Rats are everywhere-- In 2021 officials estimate the rat population in New York to be over 2 million, up more than 38 percent. And Orkin Pest Control Sevice ranked Chicago the "Rattiest City" in the US in 2020 for the sixth straight year.

  • Rats occupy every corner of the earth. They are everywhere – wherever you see humans, you’ll see rats. They seem to be getting smarter and bolder, walking the streets in broad daylight in New York City's Central Park, raiding garbage cans, having babies, and nesting in apartments, buildings, and homes.

  • About 95 percent of all lab animals are rats. Scientists can replicate many symptoms of human conditions through rats. We depend on them for all types of medical research, from developing new cancer drugs to dietary supplements. They have a great deal in common with humans, including Genetics, Biological characteristics Behavioral characteristics.

How long have rats been in existence?

  • Rats have been around for more than 60 million years, appearing soon after dinosaurs went extinct, and have survived all manner of diseases and disasters known to man. They are practically invincible. Wildlife Removable USA says, "A rat can go longer without water than a camel, build up immunities to poisons throughout generations, swim for half a mile in open water, survive large doses of radiation, and can even fall five stories without injury!"

Are rats really scared of cats?

  • Rats rule. Adult rats grow 10 times as big as mice. And rats are fierce. According to The Atlantic, felines are excellent at catching mice, “They are not super predators that folks have thought them to be. Once rats get above a certain size, rats ignore cats, and cats ignore them,” says Gregory Glass, a professor at the University of Florida that has studied cat and rat interactions in Baltimore.

Are rats smart or dumb creatures?

  • Rats are very smart. They can solve problems, learn their name, and can be taught how to do tricks. Rats have poor eyesight and use their whiskers to move around. They communicate with each other using their tail like sign language.

How fast can rats run?

  • Rats are fast runners and can run 8 mph. That’s equivalent to a human being running 160 mph. Along with speed, they are quick to maneuver. That’s why it’s hard to hit them with a broom.

How many babies do rats have in their first litter?

The usual litter size is 8 to 18 pups. Baby rats are born deaf and blind. They tend to breed during the warm summer months, which means, come the winter, undetected infestations could already be substantial.

Can rats come through the toilet?

  • Rats often use sewage pipes as transportation to enter your home. They have flexible vertebrae and ribs cages and can squeeze into tight spaces and even round the U-bend of a toilet. Rats are great swimmers and tread water for 3 days. They can climb rooftops and come through your attic.

What if all rats became extinct?

  • We cannot live without rats. All medical experiments and the discovery of drugs would severely decline. If all of the rats on the planet were to die suddenly, it would disrupt the ecological system... Rats play a role in seed distribution and science.

How long do rats live?

  • Rats’ life span is 1-2 years in the wild, as pets 2-4 years.

What do rats eat?

  • Rats have sharp teeth and will eat anything in sight. They can chew through walls and will eat the insulation around electrical wires, and can start a fire in your home.

What should I do if I see a rat hole?

When you see a rat hole you should block the entranceway with steel wool. Rats can slip into a hole the size of a quarter. If you see rat droppings or hear scratching noises in the walls or attic that's a sure sign of rat infestation.

Does rat poison cause rats to get sick and leave the house?

Experts at Wildlife USA say it’s a myth to think rat poison will make rats sick to go outside and search for water. The biggest concern associated with the use of rat poison is that it will leave stinking dead bodies of rats in different places of the house. The smell is so powerful that a single rotting dead body can make your home smell badly for weeks. “Rats will feel lethargic with low energy levels, so they are not going to go outside and will face trouble moving. Rats will die inside your home, most probably in their hiding place, bringing a variety of issues and complications,” according to Wildlife Removable USA.

The Solution

According to rat experts, traps are one of the most effective ways to get rid of rats fast. For best results, consider using snap traps, which are a fast method to kill rats instantly. You can safely remove the trap and the dead rat out of the house.

Pièce de resistance... Now, I've saved the best for last, 'The Twitter Secret Key Revealed On Steroids,' and Go Beyond 100,000. Sign up for the 30-Day FREE Trial.

“I love the RTL Twitter Follow Strategy! Having the right people to follow and following them at the right times, with the accounts right there before me, is like having my meals delivered to my doorstep. Following has never been easier. Thank you, M LeMont" - TGB

This innovative approach is akin to igniting rocket boosters, propelling you forward by saving precious time in your search for the right accounts to follow—and eliminating wasted effort and mental stress, the three primary reasons why people quit trying to gain followers.

In just a few targeted follow sessions every day, you will gain followers quickly like never before. The strategy revolves around strategically following accounts of retweeters, but rest assured, these are not your ordinary retweeters. Through rigorous testing and proprietary techniques, I have meticulously selected them from high-performing categories with the highest follow-back percentages.

Here's how it works

During the 30-Day Free Trial, I will send Primetime messages containing tweets for you to vet and follow the people who have retweeted them. Yes, you heard it right – vet and follow those who have retweeted the tweets. To begin, click on 'retweets,' which will display a list of everyone who has retweeted the tweet within the last 24 hours. These retweeters are the accounts you should follow if they meet my rigorous criteria.

Moreover, the tweets are focused on highly selective categories in the US and UK, as these categories have consistently shown the highest success rates for follow-backs, ranging from 50% to 85% of the time. By targeting these categories, you can maximize your chances of gaining new followers.

Additionally, leveraging different time zones will allow you to optimize engagement, as retweeters are more likely to follow back, particularly when they have been recently active online.

The key to the success of this strategy is to access the tweets while they are still fresh, and the retweeters are actively using Twitter. By being prompt in vetting and following them, you can position yourself at the top of their follow-backs and greatly increase your chances of gaining new followers.
